Muhammad & Conciliation:-

At the beginning of his mission, when he was with very little support, he received understanding and some support from the Jews of Mecca because of his belief in the One and Only Allah. This by no means meant that they believed him to be a prophet nor were they inclined to convert to his novel cult.

From the verses that he alleged were descended to him by Allah through the angel Gabriel, they had no doubt whatsoever that he was not a true prophet because not a single one of the allegedly revealed stories in the Quran were identical or even similar to the originals in the Bible.

Muhammad on the other hand, was extremely desirious that the Jews would declare him a prophet and that many of them should have followed him.

His failure to gain their support was a very bitter disappointment which turned him into their implacable enemy. He was similar to a jilted and rejected suiter. His early verses reflect the process of transformation from moderation and conciliation to extreme hatemongering and warmongering;  from accomodation to death and destruction.

The reader should be made aware that in the Quran, there are Abrogating & Abrogated verses. That is, verses that came invariably later on which overturned those which came earlier.

For example verse 9:05, which was later called the 'SWORD VERSE' , abrogated 124 earlier conciliatory verses.

The following verses are only a SMALL sample of many more in the Quran:

2: 47        O children of Israel! call to mind the (special) favor which I bestowed upon You and that I preferred you to all others (for My message).

2: 62        Those who believe (in the Qur'an) and those who follow the Jewish (Scriptures) and the Christians and the Sabians and who believe in Allah and the last day and work righteousness shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear nor shall they grieve.

*** This verse is repeated in 5:69.

It is interesting that Muhammad, in this very special mood of conciliation, included even the pagan Sabians among the monotheists as well as the Trinitarian Christians ***

2: 139 Say (unto the People of the Scripture): Dispute ye with us concerning Allah when He is our Lord and your Lord? Ours are our works and yours your works. We look to Him alone.

2:256 Let there be no compulsion in religion. Truth stands out clear from error; whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold that never breaks.  And Allah heareth and knoweth all things

*** Unfortunately, neither Muhammad nor his followers EVER followed this precept because invaraibly, Muhammadan Islam was FORCED upon millions of human beings with the pagan Arabs as a starter ***

5: 69        Those who believe (in the Qur'an) those who follow the Jewish (Scriptures) and the Sabians and the Christians any who believe in Allah and the Last Day and work righteousness on them shall be no fear nor shall they grieve.
6:108  Revile not ye those whom they call upon besides Allah lest they out of spite revile Allah in their ignorance.  Thus have We made alluring to each people its own doings.  In the end will they return to their Lord and We shall then tell them the truth of all that they did.

*** This verse represents the ultimate state of hypocrisy and mendacity since the Quran is full of insults and hatreds towards all those who do not believe as Muhammad and his followers do.

This wisdom was in fact copied verbatim from the Torah, prohibiting the People of Israel from doing anything wrong to other people lest they in return curse the God of Israel.

Unfortunately like most of the Meccan conciliatory verses in the Quran, this too was later abrogated by Muhammad during his Madina period***

16:125" Invite the people to your Lord's path with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious; for thy Lord knows best who have strayed from Hos Path and who receive guidance"

41: 34 Nor can goodness and evil be equal. Repay (evil)  with goodness; then will he be between whom and thee was hatred become as it were thy friend and intimate.

The above concilatory verses are abruptly and definitely abrogated by the following verses to start with:

3: 85        If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (submission to Allah) never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost (all spiritual good).          With many even more radical and extreme that followed.

9: 5 When the sacred months are over, kill the polytheists wherever you find them! Cathch them, besiege them and lie in wait for tem everywhere.
